California Trip - Part 1

With Our Sister Kelly Dongell
Last week we took a
Spring Break trip out to California to see Jennifer's sister, Kelly! It was an incredible trip and
it was so great to see and spend time with Kelly again! We spent most of our time in
San Diego and Los Angeles. We also visited
Mexico, Hollywood, Coronado, lots of beaches, and many other fun places! This was a very
relaxing and enjoyable trip for us and I'll try to share some of it over the next few posts.

First In-N-Out Burger For 2005
One of the first things I wanted to do after getting off the plane was to get an
In-N-Out hamburger. If you haven't been to In-N-Out before, you should know that they crank out some of the best food in the country! It was funny, because when we showed up at In-N-Out, we found out they were
closed for Easter Sunday, so we waited one more day!

At the airport, we had rented an average rental car, but
I decided to ask the guy at the counter if we could have a free upgrade... something sporty for our California vacation.
He hooked us up with a new convertible for no extra charge!

Our Ride For The Week
We rode the
roller coaster at Mission Beach in San Diego!

Riding The Coaster At Mission Beach
I got some
surfing in while we were in San Diego, but I'll post some more about that in the next post. We saw a
wave machine at Mission Beach that looked like a lot of fun, but I decided to save money and wait for the real waves.

I took a ton of pictures of
palm trees while we were in California because they are so beautiful. The picture below was taken outside of our hotel in San Diego.

Meeting Some Of Kelly's Housemates
We got to meet Kelly's housemates and friends while we were in L.A. We went out to eat with a couple of them -
they were all so nice and a lot of fun!

At "Old Town" San Diego
We ate dinner one night at "Old Town San Diego", which is an incredible spanish-style village inside San Diego. We ate at one of our favorite Mexican food places while we were there! Kelly especially had a great time -
she is fluent in Spanish (which was valuable while we were in Mexico - more about that in the next post too).

San Diego At Night
California is a beautiful place and it was fun for Jennifer and Kelly to visit many of the places that they grew up around. We were so thankful to have such a restful, yet exciting vacation with Kelly. Investing time with family and friends is one of the greatest blessings in life
We'll post some more pictures this week from the rest of our trip!California Trip Pt.2 (4.2005) California Trip Pt.3 (4.2005)Labels: Family, Photography, Traveling
